Meet our highly qualified Early Childhood Educators

Meet the Teachers at Halfmoon Bay Childcare Centre

Our teaching staff are highly qualified educators with extensive experience working with children. They are certified Early Childhood Educators (ECE) or ECE assistants with valid First Aid Certification and most have Food Safe Certification as well.

Jenn (and piggie)

ECE and Manager (drawn by Charlotte, age 4)

Jenn has been a part of the Halfmoon Bay Childcare Centre team since 2010. She has worked in a variety of settings with infants, children, teens, and adults with special needs for the last 25 years.

Her extensive experience includes working at the Capilano University Childcare Centre as a childcare worker, and manager on both Disney Cruise lines and Royal Caribbean, and also in the North Vancouver school system at Windsor House School.

As a single mom to an amazing 12 year old, she feels especially fortunate to be raising her daughter, Tiana, in such a fabulous community. Hobbies, when her hectic life allows for them include singing, cake design, and needle felting.

Sabrina

ECE (drawn by Fern, age 4)

Sabrina was born and raised in Lévis, QC. She is an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) with additional Special Needs certification who has been working in the childcare field since 2016.

Sabrina believes that children learn best through play. She sees children as unique and capable and believes in their abilities to problem-solve and be independent. Children learn best during hands-on experiences and Sabrina believes her role is to “scaffold” their learnings; to provide them with positive guidance when needed and to extend their play based on their interests.

During her spare time, Sabrina enjoys mountain biking, climbing, doing yoga, hiking, camping, and snowboarding. She is looking forward to getting to know you and your family!
